ESTHER STOCKER in Landesmuseum Schloss Tirol

In the exhibition, Esther Stocker presents, alongside other works, a life-size installation conceived specifically for the space: ‘Atlas’. Atlas, the Titan of Greek mythology who challenged the gods of Olympus for their power and was condemned by Zeus to bear the vault of heaven on his shoulders for eternity. The Bergfried “Atlas” is also covered with a grid that resembles a corset and evokes geographical coordinates. The camouflage effect blurs the perception of surface and body. (Heinrich Schwazer)
