The Exhibition
Among the fruitful relationships between art and literature, the dialogue between poetry and sculpture plays a special role in contemporary art. However, this has received very little attention so far. The exhibition “Poetry in 3D. Text Sculptures and Poetry Objects since 1960” takes this as an opportunity to present international examples from this field of tension. It focuses on the tradition of experimental poetry and visual art since the 1960s, in the context of which texts appear as three-dimensional works of art.
“Poetry in 3D” invites us to reflect: What can a text be beyond lines printed on paper? What sensory impressions can reading convey beyond linguistic content? What role do unconventional materials and techniques of writing play for literature? How can abstract signs be used to appropriate the world?
