Gerwald Rockenschaub and Josef Bauer in the Museum of Contemporary Art Skopje in”TAPETI”

TAPETI marks the first time that selected works from the evn collection will be presented outside their original setting, at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje in 2026. The exhibition is based on a concept developed in 2018 for the EVN Headquarters in Maria Enzersdorf, where artists were commissioned to create site-specific wallpapers as display surfaces for works from the evn collection. In Skopje, this setting is reinterpreted through mobile walls that are combined with works from the museum’s own collection, creating new dialogues between different generations, artistic positions, and collections. The result transforms the modern idea of the neutral exhibition space into a layered, dynamic environment of encounter and exchange.
