Melanie Ender “ALMOST IN BETWEEN” at Kunsthaus Dahlem

For her exhibition in the former studio of Arno Breker, the leading monumental sculptor of the Nazi era, Melanie Ender has conceived delicate, site-specific installations that defy any claim to permanence. The artist explores how structures designed for stability and control reveal their openness to transformation over time. Straight lines become distorted, supposedly rigid metal rods balance precariously—Ender’s works remain sensitive and responsive to their surroundings. In this way, they dissolve rigid orders and make processes of change tangible.
